Activities & Excursions
The location of the TaunusTagungsHotel means you’re close to many attractions in the Hochtaunus area, such as the Saalburg, the Hessenpark and also the Lochmühle. The spa town of Bad Homburg is only 4 kilometres away. That’s where the wonderful Taunus Therme spa with its magnificent gardens is located, as well a castle with a white tower that is well worth a visit. There’s a lovely pedestrian zone with plenty of inviting options for eating and drinking and also a variety of shops and shopping arcades. Nearby, there’s the family-friendly Opel Zoo and Lochmühle amusement park.
But Friedrichsdorf itself is worth exploring on account of its interesting history as a Huguenot town. Famous for its zwieback or rusks, it has beautiful courtyards and restaurants, a ropes course, open-air swimming pool and lots of hiking and cycling trails, which make it easy to explore the Taunus and the Wetterau.
