Surrounded by nature. It just comes naturally.
Anyone who visits our hotel quickly realises how closely we are connected to our surroundings. Our location right on the edge of the forest not only shapes the view from the window, but also influences many of the decisions we make in our day-to-day lives.
We do not see sustainability as a marketing slogan, but as a responsible approach to resources, food and people. Weâre not perfect, but we strive to improve a little bit every day.
Using resources responsibly
Some of our electricity is generated directly on the hotel grounds by our solar panel system. We use rainwater to flush the toilets, motion sensors help to save energy, and for longer stays, our guests decide for themselves whether a daily mid-stay clean is required.
We also rely on fully electric service vehicles for our transport needs.
All around the hotel, flowering plants, green spaces and bird boxes provide a habitat for bees, bumblebees, butterflies and birds. After all, nature begins right on our doorstep.

Good food doesnât necessarily require complicated concepts, but rather good ingredients and culinary skill.
In our kitchen, we still make a great deal from scratch. Sauces, soups and stocks are made from fresh ingredients using traditional culinary techniques. Vegetables and potatoes are prepared fresh, rather than being bought pre-peeled or pre-prepared.
Through careful planning and a mindful approach to food, we manage to reduce waste whilst maintaining the high quality of our dishes.
People are at the heart of what we do
For us, warmth is not just a concept, but an integral part of our daily interactions.
We value long-term employment relationships, training and professional development, as well as respectful behaviour within the team. At the same time, we are committed to supporting young people, including through apprenticeships and work placements. On our premises, the âDie FledermĂ€useâ forest nursery has its hut and a place to take shelter in bad weather.
Our connection to our local community is very important to us. That is why we specifically support local businesses in Friedrichsdorf through staff vouchers.
Our Approach
As a conference hotel in the Taunus region near Frankfurt, we aim to create a place where people feel at home, whilst at the same time managing resources responsibly. For us, many small steps add up to make a big difference.We see responsibility not as a goal, but as a mindset.
